Whether it's pouring, drizzling, misting, or spritzing, this season means one thing for you: serious tress stress.
Us curly girls with slightly drier hair have to work a little bit harder in taming our manes when the weather gets wet. The main reason is because when dry and damaged curls gets damp the cuticle will be lifted, making it easier for humidity to penetrate each strand and cause frizz.
Add an extra dose of conditioner to your routine and don't rinse your conditioner all the way out of your curls. By leaving a small amount of conditioner in your hair it will help hold those curls together.
If rainy day hair still has you down, another solution may be a different hairstyle altogether. Your stormy hair saviour can be a quick updo (and a sturdy umbrella). The classic french braid will help protect your hair without loosening your natural curls.
Handy to know: Just type your code and hair type into the NaturallyCurly Frizz Forecast and you’ll get weather reports and curly hair remedies.
Top tip: Working your fingers through your curls should be kept to a minimum as this will create frizz and broken curls.
We find they all work well, but personally prefer Moroccanoil or Argan Oil as we love how light it is, and the smell is amazing!
