Trending: Waves from the Catwalk

"The Seventies was one of fashion's biggest inspirations- think denim, denim and more denim - so it makes sense that the era had a beauty moment too. Woodstock waves were on show at Emilio Pucci, Marchesa and Anna Sui, whilst the shimmery eyes at House of Holland and the stars painted on the models' faces at Tommy Hilfiger had an undeniable Seventies festival vibe." The look at Valentino was simple and pretty, with Pat McGrath lightly defining the eyes in neutral hues.

Guido Palau gave models off-centre partings, leaving hair to air-dry where possible for a casual, natural texture. Sam McKnight kept the hair equally simple, with models' natural waves simply parted at the centre.

Black glitter was also used under the eyes, mimicking slept-in mascara, whilst lipgloss was applied to the lids.

For hair, Roberta Bellazzi created braided up-dos, using extensions in colours lighter and darker than each model's own.

Syd Hayes styled the hair in loose, textured waves, parted at the centre.

Many of the models wore Missoni-print turbans over their hair, which Paul Hanlon and his team slicked back from their faces. Other models wore their hair in sleek chignons, covered with silk scarves.
